Hyatt/Playa Resorts is probably regretting it’s naming choice… understandably they wanted to benefit from the strong “Hyatt Ziva Cancun” name recognition. Up to now it’s just been a source of confusion for people. But now there are multiple international news outlets reporting shootings at both resorts and these reports will likely be featured in Google results for many months/years to come.
Ah - apologies. It seems that indeed many major international media outlets are getting confused between the two, which are not that close to each other - a 40 minute car ride apart. This will do no good to the reputation of both locations.
