To get to Lifetime Diamond I need
2 million base points. I currently have 840,000 base points earned over 20 years.

I have 800, or so, paid and reward stays. It seems I need a 1000.
On reflection it looks like I should concentrate on getting the additional 200 and just stick with Reserve.

I agree with your plan to stick with getting the additional 200 nights. Although currently the Aspire spend counts as Hilton base points, this is a covid-19 add on that won't last. And the CSR point is worth more than the three Hilton points per dollar spend.
