The pool is situated in an underground courtyard to the left of the building when looking at it dead-on, so there isn't much they can do given the current setup and site constraints. When the Four Points opened in its original, shorter building, guests of that hotel were allowed to use the Sheraton's pool as a stopgap until the taller new extension was built, and now they've got a rather lovely indoor infinity pool on the 42nd floor.

The other end of the St. Regis building [to the right when facing it] is the road leading up to the Four Points' entrance and what will be the new Sheraton's entrance, so they won't add anything there short of some landscaping. If anything, I can see them retiling the current pool and sprucing up the surrounding area with new furniture and décor, but I would forget about a do-over or creating something like the beautiful Four Seasons' offerings.
