Answer from TA is that this service is no longer part of the ulti perks, but I am welcome to pay for the La Première ground service...
And it‘s exactly that what I called out up-thread (1) you can‘t rely on them, it‘s yes one day and no another day (2) the programme is not designed to deliver benefits that matter. I get it that some people appreciate being offered wine from the P menu when they fly in J. But hands up, how many would rather stick to the J wine and in return not wait 1-2 hours at immigration at CDG?
Ils n‘ont juste rien compris…
Flying back from JFK, all P seats are taken, so it‘ll have to be J on the direct flight. The prospect of standing in line for a long time upon arrival at CDG will make me take a transfer connection through LX. Door to door it may be as long as going direct + wait time in CDG, but at least the extra time I can spend more pleasantly (relaxing and dining in the LX First Class Lounge, even if flying in J) or more usefully (work I can do in the lounge during transfer or on the plane) than standing in line at CDG simply because AF has decided to make ULTI completely useless when it matters.
