I am in a similar situation. If QR decide to extend status for another 6 months beyond the end of the year, then I will stick with them and should have no issue retaining my status.
However, if they aren't going to do it, then many of the routes I am planning in the next year or so are cheaper on TK, EK, and others. I hope they can decide soon so I can book my flights!
They really need to give their membership more of a break. There are still too many variables and flight irregularities (such as the $900 DOH-DXB route) to be willing or able to attempt a requalify.
