On the Platinum card, the trip delay insurance has a $500 coverage limit per Covered Trip. If on a Covered Trip myself plus three other Eligible Travelers warranted a claim, would the four of us have $500 in benefits to share or would we each get a $500 limit?

Additionally, does anyone have experience having a flight delayed/canceled and being able to get reimbursed for purchasing a new, more expensive flight and having the difference covered? Or is this benefit just for meals, lodging, toiletries, ground transportation, etc…
