many real suites still have capacity max of 4, so putting in 5 will filter those out. for example, a 1 bedroom suite with a foldout couch in the living room would most likely be perfectly fine for a family with 2 kids and having a separate room, but that would get filtered out. On the other hand, I've see rooms with tow queens and a "trundle" couch that allows occupancy of 5 but it's all one big room. Between the two, I would take the real 1bd suite.
i've had to do this exercise recently, and given the wide variety of room configurations (couches that fold out and those that don't, "suites" with real doors and open-plan), I just did it the long way and looked at each hotel separate under "rooms" section where it lists all room types.
