After having spent multiple times at Hotel Unique and Palacio Tangara, I am considering Hotel Fasano for a Christmas break. Although I have been to the restaurant in the past as well as the Barretos bar, I have never stayed there as a hotel guest. How do the three hotels compare? Below my observations

Palacio Tangara
+ Elegant resort with lush greenery and outdoor pool
+ Great restaurants
+ Amazing spa and indoor pool
+ huge rooms, many with walk in closet
- Far away, in particular long transit times to Faria Lima and Cerqueira Cesar in early evening

Unique
+ Great sundeck with stunning view and outdoor pool
+ Nice restaurant and bar
+ Close to Faria Lima and Oscar Freire
- Smallish rooms and tiny bathroom, lack of space for luggage

Fasano
+ Great location and Isay Weinfeld design
+ Nice restaurant and amazing bar
+ Very close to Oscar Freire and a short taxi ride to Faria Lima
- No outdoor pool or garden
