I am interested whether the OP raised it with the crew during or after the flight and also how it was resolved?
Does the crew have to notify the Captain and does the Captain have file a report?
I’m normally very much in the ‘raise it with cabin crew onboard’ camp, but in this case I’m not sure I would have bothered.
Taking the OP description, it seems CC failed quite badly to secure the cabin in the lead up to take-off. Once airborne there’s nothing CC can realistically do, apart from lodge a pax complaint. Perhaps you may spark their conscience and the cabin will be better secured for landing? But I doubt it.
This is something I would follow up with BA or the authorities after the flight.
