I appreciate you trying, but I don't think it's helpful to engage with these folks -- at this point in the pandemic, arguing on an online forum won't change their minds about things like masking/vaccination standards, and it sure as hell won't change mine.
I think it is helpful to share data points about how a property approaches covid safety for those who care, so I'll continue doing so, and appreciate others who do as well. In the case of the Aviara, I had higher expectations for a Park Hyatt's approach to service in a global pandemic that's still going on, and left disappointed. Whether it's in San Diego or not, at this point we have common sense standards for approaching indoor activity especially among people who are traveling from elsewhere. My impression was that that the Park Hyatt Aviara was just taking the easiest way out in catering to its own resistant staff as well as travelers/guests who simply don't care. And with that being the case, I won't be back for the foreseeable future.
