Same reaction here. Porto is great, but this location isn’t especially convenient unless your only plan is to tour all the port wine cellars in Nova de Gaia.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but to visit Porto, stay in Porto, not across the river.
It would take literally 10min to walk from the new Hilton over the bridge to the other side of the rivier to Porto, so very suitable for tourists if you ask me...
