Makes some sense since the premium cabins have been selling well on the HI flights. UA seems to be focusing on the premium leisure market at this time. That's the big reason why I've been arguing that the ground experience should match the in flight experience for long haul HI. Instead, we have a mish mash of products with Polaris having the best ground experience, but many are not satisfied by the in flight experience, with the reverse being true for HI
So UA invests in a product where the ticket price is 800-1200 depending on the market, while offering the big bagel to those paying $4K+ on longer flights. Makes sense in Kirby World.
