Maybe I'm spoiled, but as a 1K the last two years I've cleared every international wait list well in advance (except around the real peak times like Christmas-New Years where I expect to sweat it out at the gate or not clear at all), but my flights next week haven't cleared yet and aren't looking good at all.
I've done this flight and SFO_IAD quite a bit, and yes, even for 1K's it is only clearing in the last few days. I Know it seems there should be seats, there ARE seats, but I know UA is trying to work revenue generation till the last minutes. I have alwasy cleared them though, as a 1K . Don't know what the luck is for 2p
