I have desperately called over 4 times United to select seats for my parents from LIS to EWR for December so I can finally see them. The tickets have been purchased for a while now but everything I try to choose their seats (upgrade or no upgrade) I get an error. So I called them several time and all they tell me is that flight seats are blocked and no one I clouding them can unblock the seat map and assign a seat to my parents. They say to wait for it to be unlocked, we are getting now closer and closer to thier December departure date. Any suggestions on why this happens? I am afraid they have a block inn case they cancel this particular flight, leaving us at the last minutes scrambling to get my parents here for Xmas.

Recommend you call United about your reservation to confirm that your reservation is in synch and see what they can do to assign seats.
