Hyatt Residence Club is owned by Marriott Vacations Worldwide. You can find the brand by scrolling to the bottom of this page:

For this reason alone, I do not think any subsequent payments for the timeshare you “bought” will code as Hyatt. Interestingly enough, my hotel (not timeshare) stay at the St. Regis NY did code as St. Regis Residence (probably because the suite they put me in was on the owner’s floor). That still earned 6x back on the Brilliant.
Comment all you like but I'm not really interested in your opinion on my timeshare purchase (that subject is addressed elsewhere) any more than you care about my opinion on your business card charging strategy.
Nor do I think MVC purchase of Hyatt has any bearing as the vendor is labeled Hyatt (as noted above) and of course property ownership does not affect the management company or bank coding. It is really a question of how Chase codes these charges. Also I note that charges made directly at the properties code with the property name (e.g. Hyatt High Sierra), but I can't tell if they receive a bonus.
For St. Regis however did you book your stay at the hotel and then get upgraded to the residences? Or did you book the residences through the Marriott/SPG portal? Nice to hear that it properly coded for Amex.

Unfortunately we find that many travel purchases (such as hotel points that are purchased through website) do not properly code for the bonus. And I have rarely had success with Hyatt or Marriott providing EQN for HRC or MVC stays.
