On separate tickets you aren't connecting.

As a minimum you don't have 1 hr 35 mins You have that less the AY doors close time. And that assumes you can do OLCI and generate your BP etc

If you have luggage you have 1 hr 35 mins less the AY bag drop off cut off time because AA won't interline them to AY on separate tickets. For international it's usually 1 hr before departure. so you'd have a 35 mins to deplane, collect bags and get from T3 to T5.
