FWIW agents don't seem to pay much attention to the nva date if the ticket shows a valid flight. A BA agent reissued an xONE for me and printed the wrong nva - used sell date instead of first flight. I pointed it out and she said "no worries." Turns out later when both AA and BA handled coupons for travel beyond that date, even in the context of another re-issue (i.e. they had plenty of time to stare at the thing) no one gave it a care.
Thus I suppose if you can can find an agent willing to book you on a flight beyond nva, you probably will be able to board and fly. It's not a chance I'd personally take, though.
