But let say I book the ticket exactly a week from now to make it simple. If say just two days later from now, I want to make my flight a week later or say the opposite a day earlier... could I still do that free of charge if the same cheap seats are available for those days and at the same price? I know all the sites have that one day courtesy cancel. But could I change the dates after the courtesy cancel has expire or not?

The other thing is this. Let say I get tested positive. Im been staying at an apartment and not a hotel though. My concern isn't the cost of hotel because im staying at a friends place and I can still stay there until I need to. But when is the earliest I could do the next covid test? Example say right now i book a flight for exactly next week 7 days from now. Two days before my flight, i take the covid test and test positive. I obviously will have to contact delta to change my flight and rebook. But do i have to do this over the phone or could i do this online?

Now the bigger question is... how soon can i get another covid test? Would it be silly to go three days later to get another covid test to see if im negative? Or you need to wait at least a week or two weeks before your next test?

I'm not staying at a resort or anything like that so i could to those places where you pay to take a covid test.
Of you think it's a false positive get another right away. If not then you're going to need follow rules for how soon you can travel after having CV19. Generally you must wait 10-30 days (depending on country entering) after symptoms 1st appear (or 1st positive test if no symptoms) before can fly again. You'll then generally need copy of positive result and letter from doctor.

For US travel, you'll need a copy of positive test AND a letter from a doctor you're safe to travel. No negative test required. You still need comply with any airline imposed restrictions.
