Yes, they will offer retention offers on some no AF cards. In the past year I have received offers for 10k TYP after $3k spend in 6 months on both my AT&T Access card and my Rewards+. The year before I had 2 extra TYP per $ on up to $17.5K spend on the ATTA card, nothing on Rewards+. No offers on Double Cash (other than some APR thing). Custom Cash is kind of new to be canceling. Did you product change to that? There probably are not a lot of data points on retention offers for that card given that it was just introduced not too long ago.
I applied to the Custom Cash as a new card but then realIzed all the categories on it were covered well by other cards I had. Was an impulse application. Part of the reason I want to simplify.
My double cash is about 6 years old.
At this point I’m super happy with Amex and couldn’t imagine moving away from them (other than my backup visa which is through chase) so have been trying to play cleanup.
