That train has been broken / out of service for literally years. Given the unpredictability of both the replacement bus shuttle to T5 and the erratic TSA screening operation there (yes, you have to reclear from landside at T5), I would say a 1:35 transfer is cutting it very close. You have to be at gate in T5 20-25 minutes before departure; if your inbound from BDL is 20 minutes late, you're probably sunk.
ORD will be a woeful transfer airport intl-dom and dom-intl until the terminal upgrades are done in 2026-27.
