This worked on a second attempt earlier this week after first logging in and then using the "Find a Specific Booking" functionality.
It is, however, not possible to track the claim status online as that is supposedly "a known bug that has been there for a while" as per AF's advice.

It may be useful to note that
you must be logged in to access the claims progress.
Otherwise, I'm at one month from the incident, no form of reimbursement received, just "in progress," "we are currently processing your claim."
