However! You do have the option of the new Aer Lingus service from MAN on that date, so long as you aren't in WTP. That's 12:05 departure from Ringway and it has a BA codeshare on it BA6155. I'm afraid it's not unusual to have changes around Christmas, but the key thing to do is to be clear what exactly your Plan B looks like and to suggest it. But as you can see there are a number of other options to JFK and EWR, either via LHR or DUB, so just select the one you like most. You can go on any valid service plus or minus 3 days, under old policy and more than that under BWC.

AA in business is often discussed elsewhere here. Some FTers have strong opinions in both directions about it, but probably 90% of regular flyers on the NYLON route would say they are about the same.
Generally this happens when a schedule change happens and the connection time drops to below the minimum connecting time.
