Understood, so it’s recommended that if you get an email offer to take it, this will most likely trump anything at the airport? It’s been a while since flying Emirates for sure, just I’d remembered in the past at check-in there being signs offering special upgrade offers, but admittedly that was some time ago and of course pre-pandemic!
