I roughly understand that there was a change in partner airline earning after PQP was introduce.
All the details about partner earnings on non-016 tickets do not matter if you are on a UA 016 ticket -- it is all about price (and Air Japan is included) and nothing else. There is only one way to change the PQPs, change the fare paid.
