Not true. Alan Stillman sold all of his restaurants outside of New York City. Those restaurants outside of NYC were sold to the Patina Group and in 2016 the Patina Group sold those restaurants to Danu Partners. There is a licensing arrangement for the Smith&Wollensky restaurant in NYC. In NYC, Alan and Michael Stillman own that S&W restaurant under the umbrella of their Quality Branded Restaurant Group. Obviously during the sale Cite was a sacrifice. But the others were transformed: Manhattan Ocean Club became Quality Meats and Park Avenue Café into Park Avenue Autumn. Maloney and Porcelli closed because of Covid in October 2020. The Post House was closed in 2013. ONEspc also closed. But the Stillmans' new restaurant group has 8 restaurants in NYC and one in Denver. Meanwhile the owners of the Smith & Wollensky outside of NYC, have changed hands once and closed locations.

Cite was my favorite restaurant in NYC. Never had a bad meal there. The Restaurant Week that all the properties still participate in, is the closet you can get to the all you can wine meal at Cite.
