The tracking of lifetime has been much discussed, the simplest solution if you are willing to accept a few miles uncertainty (generally under +-5) and then occasionally resync with united.com is to used HTTP://gcmap.com

Some have started Building a UA city pair BIS table but participation has been spotty.
