I usually just drop and run because they’re so backed up. But twice now I’ve had to fight them on gas levels so I always keep my receipts and take photos now. One time I knew it was an issue because a car wasn’t rented full and instead of notating it on a new receipt they put a comment in the reservation. That one I went inside for and they eventually found the notation and charged me correctly. A month later they audited me and charged an extra $50 because fuel wasn’t full. That took a long phone call to get that refunded. Will never make that mistake again and will always get a new printout.

thankfully no major issues besides fuel and stranding me Labor Day weekend with no available car. Nothing like a lost car or damage well after the fact. Hertz can be a pain and have caused a few headaches but with my corporate rate I’m not going to find anything close to cheaper so I deal with it.
