Yes, the truth is there's no guest #2, even the reservation says 2 guests, and I couldn't find anything in Marriott section 4.3 Elite Benefits states that person has to physically be there, I don't think it's right for hotel to question whether or not my guest #2 is actually here because it's non of their business. Perhaps next time I will bring a Teddy bear just for their questioning?
It takes a lot of gall to specifically cite to a section that states "An additional U.S. $10 F&B credit per night of Stay is given for one
(1) guest staying in the same guestroom as the Member" and then claiming that the guest doesn't have to physically stay in your guest room. It's not surprising that manager had little patience for your shenanigans.
