I will earn EXP this year with over 120K EQM - qualifying for the threshold bonus in addition to the EXP Choice Rewards.

If you take the SWUs for both - that would give you 6 SWUs.

1.For the Choice Rewards - you have until end of 2022 to select - does it apply for a flight in 2023 if booked before end of 2022?
2. For the 120K threshold bonus - do you have until the end of 2022 to select? Do the same SWU booking dates apply?


I found this on the AA site:

• Platinum Pro and Executive Platinum members receive a choice of rewards, including the option to select systemwide upgrades, when qualifying or re-qualifying. Executive Platinum members can also choose to receive additional systemwide upgrades as a reward upon reaching 150,000, 200,000 and 250,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs). For 2021, we’ve lowered the thresholds to 120,000, 160,000 and 200,000 EQMs.
• Million Miler members get 4 systemwide upgrades when you reach 2 Million Miles and for every Million Mile level after.
• Systemwide upgrades are credited to your account within 48 hours of being earned.
• Upgrades will expire 1 year from the date deposited. Systemwide upgrades can be used for travel beyond the expiration date – the upgrade just needs to be confirmed before the upgrade expires.

What does earned mean? In both cases you choose the reward or threshold bonus. Should this line really say:
Systemwide upgrades are credited to your account within 48 hours of being SELECTED?

So does this mean - you can select the SWU option end of Dec 2022, then you can book the ticket using the SWU in Dec 2023, for travel in Nov, 2024? (AA only allows booking 11 months ahead.)
