Just a quick question - not the most important thing in the world, but it just seems a bit strange to me. I had purchased First class seats (I class) ORD to Boise (via Seattle) when the fares were inexpensive and AS was scheduled to operate mostly 737s on the SEA-BOI route. My itinerary was a same-day return mileage run for Aadvantage EQDs. About a month or two ago, I noticed that the plane for SEA-BOI was downgauged to a Q400 without First class. I got a very nice email from Alaska, offering me a discount code for the downgrade, and I was fine with the whole thing.

I am looking at the reservation now and it seems that the Q400 legs were rebooked into G class, which has pretty miserable earnings in Aadvantage. I am happy enough to get some money back, but it just seems strange that a downgrade from I class to coach would be rebooked into G - I was kind of expecting Y earnings, to be honest.

Has anyone experienced similar, and is it typical for downgrades to be booked into a class with such poor earnings? Thanks.
