Early October is low season which is nice without the crowds.
Globalist benefits are very good. Welcome letter referenced my preferences for red wine and sparkling water, and included 2 drink vouchers at Shor and $15 voucher at the Market.
Breakfast buffet might be Friday to Sunday. I was just there last Thursday/Friday and now remember another table mentioning they didn't see the buffet the previous day.
I didn't receive those Globalist vouchers (even after asking if they have a lounge). They did give 2 vouchers for 2 "beach breezer" drinks or some name like that from the pool bar, which were just premade drinks in a small plastic cup that rotated each day. Last Friday was a blueberry margarita which wasn't very good. I would have much preferred drinks from Shor.
After returning from dinner the hotel had left a cheap bottle of Canvas champagne and a good looking chocolate brownie (with a best by date of two days prior) on the kitchen counter in our room. I'm not sure if that was a loyalty gift or from an earlier mix-up that wasn't their fault. A really nice older gentleman with his wife who were vacationing from up north introduced himself in the parking lot. Shortly after we arrived in our room someone kept trying to open our door and shaking the handle. I opened the door to find that same couple, and the wife's phone app showed our room number. I let her use our room phone to call the front desk. After being put on hold a couple of times she became irate and was cussing out the front desk. She finally stormed off to yell at them in person. A little later the front desk called to let me know that she had the right room number but the wrong hotel. They were actually staying in the Hampton Inn about a half mile or so up the beach.
