That said, if you live close to AGP, isn't a connection at MAD pretty much a wash vs driving the 90 minutes or so to GIB? Between being vaccinated, enforcement of masking and the like, flying is not where COVID is a risk. The real COVID risk will be when she gets back to the UK and pretty much everyone has forgotten masks are a thing.
We are in London at the moment, so I know how bad things are here compared with Spain !! There are a variety of factors which would decide the routing, including real time availability and price. Covid is something she is anxious about (although double vaccinated !), so we would probably go for the longer drive in the safety of a hermetically sealed car in preference to sitting around in the terminal in MAD for several hours.

Can anyone confirm whether there are any "passenger locator" type forms that need to be completed crossing the border in either direction ?
