GIB as an alternative to AGP ?

Something very strange seems to be happening to AGP fares / availability at the moment. They suggest that demand is vastly outstripping supply. Mrs FF99 may need to get back to London at short notice and GIB may be a possible option on days when the AGP flight is completely booked out.

Question is how feasible it would be for me to drop Mrs FF99 on the Spanish side of the border for her to catch the GIB flight home. I have no idea what is involved in normal times, let alone post Brexit and during Covid. She has a UK passport, is fully vaccinated and will probably have a checked bag which she may need to trundle across the border. We are not in the first flush of youth, but also not yet totally decrepit ! Is this a viable option ? The alternative may be connecting flights via MAD, which is also not an ideal option during Covid.
