Why doesn't Alaska Airlines do something greater with their A321neos?
Why doesn't Alaska Airlines do something greater with their A321neos?
There website says there a321s have a range of 4,000nm
there longest route ANC-KOA is 2,874 miles and is not even operated by a a321
why dont they but there a321s on longer routes, they could fly to Caribbean or Bahamas, Central America, or even to South America, the a321s can do it
I could totally see them flying SEA-SJU or SEA-PUJ, or routes to other big international destinations
I even read that with in the next few years Alaska airlines wants to get rid of most of there airbus aircraft as they are leased, and in a few years plan to only have the a321s.
This obviously means they see that the a321 do have a place in there fleet and do have a use, but it at least seems to me that they are not using them to there fullest potential
Another potential, I could see Alaska airlines retrofitting the a321s to have lie flat seats
I mean think about it, Alaska Airlines first class seats are upright, maybe it is time for time to create a lie flat flagship first product, and then fly them to further destinations
I think this would improve the a321s usability, they could have they flying all day round as customers love lie flats on overnight service.
I think it is quite funny that AS fly's a A321 from SEA-LAX-SEA everyday. Those flights probably dont go out full, especially because they fly that route many time's a day (the rest of the day they use a320s for that route and now also some 737max's)
It makes me wonder who at Alaska airlines decided to put there highest captivity and longest range aircraft to fly between SEA-LAX, If I were them I would increase usability and use it on routes that could actually use that extra capacity or range
Ok, well maybe this is just my dream of a perfect Alaska Airlines, flying to many more countries, utilizing the aircraft they have (aka the a321s)
(I would also love if they got some widebody's, l could defiantly see them flying the 787 to Europe and beyond)
Ok, well I would love to hear your thoughts on this!
