Virgin are running 3 per week to SFO at the moment and are due to go up to 4 per week from next week. Beyond that, not seen any firm confirmation. With uncertainty over the US reopening date, it hits consumer confidence for future bookings. Unsurprisingly, this may well mean that that VS will return services less quickly on some routes. For example, SFO will naturally be secondary to LAX for VS. Looks like you might unfortunately be a victim of that with your travel dates.

Also, 8th and 16th are not Christmas flights. 8th is very much off-peak and the 16th is still in the quieter period prior to the 18th onwards when the Christmas travel period will start to ramp up.
