Just had a 1 night stay at Marriott Downtown Mission Valley. It was a remodeled hotel with the new Marriott design. Was upgraded to executive room (translation: Added loveseat in the room on a high floor) without asking.

Room was functional, although the caddy in the shower is already coming loose, leaving any content left in there tilting forward. Also, surprisingly there's no shower gel. There is a work desk in the room as well.

The M Club was closed, but they provided free buffet breakfast in the restaurant. The buffet included eggs to order right there at the buffet station, including omelets with 10 ingredients to choose from. Buffet was self-serve, with the usual packaged scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, and pancake. There's also fruit cups, yogurt, and selections of breads. I don't remember whether there was oatmeal. Coffee and juice were served in to-go containers, and the OJ tasted fresh-squeezed.
