Trying to stay on topic, but something came to mind...with some of the responses speaking of the pax not wanting the responsibility of the exit row I'm curious to what extent is that responsibility. Guess I'm wondering if someone agreed to the FA speech on being able to assist, and then during an actual emergency was unable, unwilling to, or was just too mentally challenged and couldn't figure things out, are you then held to some sort of legal responsibility? Could you be fined for not getting the door open? Jail for jumping out the wing 1st? I love and try to book the exit row whenever possible, but after reading some of the responses I guess I understand why some wouldn’t.
