Carpets and other floors can be gross and people are definitely all over the place on hygiene — even basic hand hygiene— but how many of us avoid all eating out at restaurants because of hygiene concerns? And we are putting that food and those utensils and drinkware in our mouths.
Maybe if the restaurants had carpeted floors we would be more likely to avoid them than those restaurants without wall-to-wall carpets, but my preference with hotel rooms and with restaurants is that the floors are not carpeted.
