For an airport of this size and stature, they really should have made it pre-security or arranged passage to T3 for all with the authorities (like JFK T4).
I’ve found transiting terminals at LHR such a pain that I used to book my transatlantic segment on AA (T3) or BA (T5), based on what terminal my BA connecting flight was leaving from. Not sure how many people would go through the hassle of doing a terminal transfer there just to use a Centurion Lounge.
