They delivered it to a random neighbor and when I contacted the delivery service, they say the default for Fortnum & Mason is a box they this check that says “OK to deliver to a neighbor.“ I chose this delivery date because I knew the recipient would be home and they never even called or checked. They live in a basement apartment and to be honest the bell doesn’t always work which I listed on the order. I gave explicit instructions to please call the recipient and let them know they have arrived. But I knew someone would be home today which is why I spent extra money for name day delivery. They maintain its OK to deliver to a neighbor even though I never gave permission. So I am livid.
Did they use Hermes as a courier by any chance? There are some awful couriers in the U.K. and they are the worst of them.
Hope they got it from their neighbour easily enough.
