Confusing baggage allowances

Hello all

I will be travelling (hopefully) next year. I cannot find the answers to my question on the Qantas website, and have been going round in circles trying to get an answer via Messenger. I don't need to purchase any additional weight.

My Qantaslink and Qantas domestic flights from Hervey Bay to Sydney (via Brisbane) have a suitcase dimension allowance of 140cm.

My Qantas international flight from Sydney has a suitcase dimension allowance of 158cm.

I will be travelling with a 158cm suitcase on both the domestic and international flights. My domestic flights to Sydney are scheduled the day before the international flight, therefore, international baggage allowances don't apply.

Am wondering if the frequent flyers are able to answer the following quesfion please:

What do I need to do to be able to travel with a 158cm suitcase on a Qantaslink and Qantas domestic flight please? How do I get permission to exceed the allowed suitcase size?

Thanks in advance for your help.
