I'm an MVP. I recently received some GGUs from an MVPG. Can the "giver" tell who used them?

That's the question, which I admit is a bit odd, so here's the background for anyone who might be interested:

I moderate a fairly large online forum. Because it deals with issues of domestic security policy, I try to maintain anonymity. Over a few months, I've developed a rapport with another user, and we've discussed a mutual interest in airlines. Despite the rapport, I've not disclosed my actual identity.

In passing, he's offered me a few GGUs - which I'd certainly appreciate and make use of. But, I'm concerned that he may be able to view my actual identiy. Hoping to find out if this is a concern or not.
