Two thoughts that may help others. The M27 is closed at weekends quite a lot at the moment (and is 50mph for many miles even when open) so check before you travel and allow extra time if needed. Second, the station is also only about a one minute walk from the terminal but connections to Sussex coast services are not always ideal as I found out on Sunday coming back from Glasgow (Loganair code share).
Worth pointing out that the M3 between Winchester and Southampton (J9-J14) is also being turned into a “smart motorway” and I have noted some major queues building already in recent days.
