I had a hockey match on Saturday against Southampton Uni who have a pitch just by the airport and it was the first time I have been there when the BA routes were operating. Got to see a couple of departures around 3pm. The noise differential compared to the Dash-8s is considerable, I had never fully realised the difference between the whiny props and the roar of the jet. So good to see a bit of life back at Southampton, just sad I didn't make it this year after they canned FLR.
