Thank you. I was looking for that article when I came across the jpsitech site, and the patent application linked below, which explains that a card can be made with a slit, and two layers of metal (rather than one layer of plastic and one layer of metal). I understand the second layer of metal restores rigidity lost to the slit, BUT I do not have the appropriate technical background to claim anything beyond a superficial understanding.
