Agree. I don't know why it's so hard for people to accept this. No one is saying that they would choose a card based on design alone. BUT, if there were two cards with the same perks/AF with one being ugly and one being beautiful.... I think most people would reasonably take the beautiful option. Do people wish to drive beautiful cars? Wear beautiful clothing/jewelry? Find beautiful spouses? Factors beyond aesthetics matter (and many probably matter much more) but suggesting that visual appeal is irrelevant is just not true IMO.

They did, also when tap to pay was added. Such is the nature of contactless payments. There's just no way to get this to work with a full metal card. Phone makers got around this with glass and ceramic. Obviously, this will not work well with credit cards.
I appreciate Amex's attempt to find a solution to this with the Prada Centurion bracelet.
