Scott, I know you are DYING for a flamewar here..... You are much more intelligent than the last answer you gave.... Just among the EU carriers, I can recall over $20 billion in direct subsidies and writeoffs over the last twenty years, this DOES NOT include insurance covergae, government absorbed security costs (which in many cases are eaten by local and national governments if not airport authorities - which are often the same).

So far the US aid has been 5 billion, not 15, but even if it were, they would still be way behind Europe (hell AF and IB on their own have gotten more then 5 bil in write-offs and subsidies over the last several years).

PS. I guess you got off that Airbus thing, huh??
