Comfort+....Is Overhead Space REALLY Guaranteed?
I have a "backup" (refundable) flight that I just booked today for next week on Delta. My teen daughter and I are currently booked on SWA on a flight scheduled to depart at 6:25am but with the debacle going on over there, I needed a backup plan. Since we are booked with points, I do not have any cash coming my way should that flight get cancelled so I *really* do not want to have to utilize my backup plan, but I do need to get to our destination.
Our Delta flight departs at 5:29am and we have Comfort+ seats. We are only flying with carry-ons so we will definitely need the overhead bin space. I know that I can cancel our tickets up until the "last minute" if the SWA flight is cancelled so I want to delay boarding the flight as long as possible. Normally, I would want to be on the plane and settled in as soon as I could, but in this case, I would like to be one of the last one's on the plane. Will the overhead space that is designated for our seats truly be "held" or will we be forced to gate check our rolling bags?
