I have booked it for early December but it has gone up to 30K/night (so 120 for our 5 nights) and using a 35K cert for daughter coming in for Saturday night from PA for an extra room.
I couldn't find any other places in Manhattan to use the 35K cert on before it expires 12/31 (unless we stayed in Brooklyn etc).
I guess I am asking in a round about way, should we stay here for our 5 day visit since it is points redemption that is reasonable and suck up the long walks to the subway (or use uber), or should we look elsewhere?

This is arguably the best low-end Bonvoy points redemption in Manhattan. It’s fine. You’re not going to get amazing service but the hotel will be pleasant enough. The location is mediocre but not terribly far away from the Fulton Street mega subway station.
