I've had a lot of experience with this.. Alaska will check your bags thru to AA, no problems. AA, however, hasn't updated their internal pages/help desk to include Alaska - so AA will NOT yet check bags thru to an AS flight on a separate PNR (reservation) AND ticket. Which is annoying.
